Tipping in Paraguay has become more and more common as tourism begins to increase. Its no surprise Paraguay is seeing more visitors each year. Paraguay is rich in natural resources and home of some beautiful sites. When traveling around Paraguay you should know who to tip and how much. Use our tipping guide below to figure out when you should tip and how much.
Taxis: Tipping a taxi driver isn’t required. You should negotiate your fare beforehand, otherwise rounding up is a good tip.
Hotels: If the bell boy was to handle your baggage then you should give him the equivalent of $1 a bag. You should also tip the maid the same a night. This is expected at the higher end hotels.
Restaurants: You should check to see if service is included on the bill. If its not then 10% is the standard tip at restaurants.
Bars: Not expected but you can leave small change if you are happy with the service.
Other: Paraguay wasn’t always a tipping culture, but as tourism increases tipping is becoming more common. Restaurants is still one of the only places where you are expected to always tip.
