Tipping in The Philippines is becoming increasingly common. Tourism is increasing in the Philippines and its no surprise. The country has loads to offer with plenty of outdoor activities and trekking to do. Use our tipping guide below to figure out when you should tip on your travels through out the Philippines!
Taxis: You should round up the total fare. A 20 PHP tip would be considered very good.
Hotels: You should tip the bell boy 20 PHP a bag and the maid 20 PHP a day.
Restaurants: In a restaurant that is catered to westerners you will be expected to tip. If the service isn’t already included (indicated by SC) then you should leave 10%. In other restaurants then you can leave the change or round up.
Bars: In a bar that is catered to westerners you will be expected to tip. If the service isn’t already included (indicated by SC) then you should leave 10%. In other bars then you can leave the change or round up.
Other: Tipping is becoming more common in the Philippines so you should be expected to tip a bit. Having said that a tip of 20-50 PHP is a very good amount for small services. This is still less then $1 USD but it does go along way for the natives.
